The volume is higher than with its mahogany counterpart the D-40. The low end is much bolder the high frequencies are thicker and clearer with a lot of body. A dreadnought it typically played in strumming style the big top has a slower attack time than the smaller bodies guitars giving the dreadnought a full and round sound that is commonly loved by guitarists who use a pick. The D-60-CE has a cutaway so you can reach those high positions with much ease.
